This innovative conference brings together industry, business, government and the social profit sector to not only discuss where each sector is individually but what the future looks like collectively. This will be the first ConvergenceYMM conference held since the Horse River wildfire in 2016. After the events of May 3, 2016 the Advisory group at the time decided to take a step back until the time was right to resurge. The 2018 iteration of ConvergecnceYMM will focus on the strength of our communities and the future of our region. We fully understand and appreciate that the wildfire is a part of our reality now; however, it alone will not inform the event

͟The theme for Convergence YMM 2018 is Resurgence: Better Together and will kick off with the return of the Heart of Wood Buffalo Leadership Awards. The Awards honor the achievements of social profit leaders, philanthropists and community organizations that embody the spirit of community innovation, capacity building and leadership. Their passion and dedication to improving the quality of life explains why they are considered the Heart of Wood Buffalo.

Heart of Wood Buffalo Award Nominations open September 19 and all nominations should be received by 12pm on October 3, 2018. Nomination forms can be accessed at www.heartofwoodbuffalo.com and sent to [email protected]

Convergence YMM 2018 highlights include:

Multi-Sector Panel Discussion: Engage in a panel discussion with representatives from Business, Industry, Government (municipal level), Health, Policing alongside updates developed at the conference from the Social Profit Sector. This will be an excellent opportunity to see what may impact us across multiple sectors and influence decisions and encourage collaboration.
